Maybelline Color Drama Lip Paint Review

Lipsticks, or really any kind of make up that you put on your lips to give it colour, is the only one aside from maybe eyeshadows, that you can have many of and not feel so guilty about because they are all so different in terms of their function, color, and type of finish.

Lipsticks are also very personal, because everybody is different, and one lipstick may not work for everybody. Not just because of its colour; but also its formula.

Having a yellow complexion with a natural dark lip renders me unable to wear "nudes" as described by many bloggers. My nude is pinkish brown, and on fair skin tone, they're straight up a vivid colour.

I think the perfect nude lipstick- that colour being your natural lip colour but more even, so that it looks better, is always something people strive to have in their collection, including myself. And in that search, I came across the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Paint.

Packaging and Pricing
The Maybelline Color Drama Lip Paint comes in a little tube- the colour of which corresponds to the colour of the gloss. The product comes out through a little hole, much like any squeeze out tube such as lip balms. The head, however is not plain plastic; it has a furry-like look that you might find on a liquid lipstick applicator.

It retails for €4,95

Claims
Also dubbed as Color Drama Jolt, Maybelline promises the Lip Paint to be super intensive and glossy, providing color as intense as a normal lipstick and precision like a lip liner.

Review
The color payoff is definitely great, as it is as good as a liquid lipstick though it is categorised as a lipgloss. It does have a glossy finish as promised. As for precision, it is my no means as great as a lip liner would get you, but it is not worse than any other liquid lipstick.

Conclusion
Available in five different colours : hot pink, pale pink, red, purple, and brown nude, the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Paint delivers on every promises it made; as it should, since it only promises two things. I have discovered, the more promises a product makes, the less likely it will actually deliver. The colour is as intensive as you would expect from a lipstick, and as glossy as a gloss should be. Aside from its colour payoff, I also love how long it actually stays on your lip for a gloss. It stays for more than 3 hours and did not rub off everywhere.

However, there are some things that I dislike from this product. The formula, though glossy as advertised, is fairly dry. It dries off my lip and clings to the dry patches of the lip. The colour can also be uneven upon application, which is not great if you opt for the more colourful selection.

At the end of the day, I really liked this product- although the color is not my perfect nude!
